Congratulations to everyone who participated at the State Meet. All of you did a great job. A special congratulations to our 2008 State Champions: Wes Eades (LJ) and Kendall McCaugherty (HJ). Aside from their spectacular efforts, the rest of the team had a great weekend as well.
The girls Shuttle team ran well enroute to an 11th place finish. The three relay teams for the boys (4×800 - 8th, Shuttles – 10th , 4×400 – 8th) didn’t place but ran near to our best times. The Pole Vault starting heights were a little high for Ben Frederick and Maria Sellas, but Matt Cummings managed to PR at 12′0″ and place 5th.
Andrew Hoover didn’t place in the 800m, but managed to break the 17 year old school record. Arielle Stafford threw well and finished 5th in the Discus. The High Jump was dominated by the girls team, who finished 1st-Kendall McCaugherty, 2nd – Kaylee Trippett, and 4th – Tiffany Oldaker. Wes Eades managed to finish as 3rd High Point Scorer for the meet with his 4th in the 100m, 3rd in the 200m, 2nd in the 400m and 1st in the Long Jump.
Overall the girls finished the meet in 9th and the boys were 8th. Everyone should be proud of their efforts.
